How jugaad helped solve bridge problem

In October 2011, as Western Railway raced towards its goal of converting its entire network between Churchgate to Virar to AC, engineers encountered immovable obstacles: bridges. There are nearly 10 bridges on the route, and engineers realised that their height would have to be increased to create adequate gap between the structures and tracks for a “safe jump” from 1,500 volt DC to 25,000 volt AC.
